Earl has created images in the darkroom and digitally for over forty years. He has exhibited works in numerous art galleries and shows throughout the South Bay and owned a fine arts gallery along with his wife, Nancy. His most recent work has centered on black and white photography using long exposures and soft focus techniques.
He also works in various metals and exotic woods creating jewelry and decorative knives. His latest knife, a decorative Bowie knife, was a combination of stainless steel, silver, desert iron wood, and a hand-made cabochon of malachite and azurite. The knife was an award winner in the recent Palos Verdes Art Center’s holiday exhibit.
His other interests include sailing, skiing, traveling, and trekking. He has traveled and hiked extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe and the America’s, photographing the people, villages, and cultural life along the way. His photographic adventures have taken him to the top of all of the nearby major peaks in California, into the Himalaya’s, and to the top of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.
